Alisa Chunchue (b.1991, Thailand) has a keen interest in the human body as a testimony to our collective anxieties about health and the invisible substances absorbed in our internal systems. Through her artistic practice she investigates the body’s organs and parts, as well as its medical treatments and procedures. She draws on the inherent nature of each chosen material she works with - be it synthetic or liquid - to exhume its unique essence, emphasising her deep physical exploration of the body to its molecular level. Past exhibitions have featured at Museum Fridericianum and Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Germany, and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, S.A.C Subhashok The Arts Centre and The Ferry Gallery in Thailand. In 2019 she was selected to be a Season 1 resident at A. Farm international art residency in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
