Nguyen Kim Thai

Nguyen Kim Thai (b. 1943, Vietnam) graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and started her artistic career in 1962. She works mainly with oil painting, lacquer painting and silk painting; her art covering a wide range of topics: from landscape, female nude painting, portrait of mother and child, to sceneries depicting the everyday life of soldiers, farmers and children. Celebrated as one of the first female painters of the Doi Moi period, Kim Thai is specifically known for her charming approach to female nude painting, which embeds while also radiates a defining sense of liberation and strength. Kim Thai has won many art awards in Vietnam.
