Often associated with makeshift shacks and fences surrounding modern-day industrial and housing constructions, the corrugated iron sheet can be considered a shared symbol across Southeast Asian countries. By putting them at the center of his photographic and moving image series Wrapped Future II, Lim Sokchanlina creates an uncanny visual discrepancy in Cambodian landscapes. With that, the series alludes not only to issues of globalization and neo-liberalization within the context of Cambodia but also to the eradication of nature and culture as the consequences that follow.
