Shadow
Disappearing landscapes (2017–ongoing) consists of photographs UV printed on found pieces of wood – some were simply floating on the water, while others were collected by Tonlé Sap residents from the frames of older houses to reuse as firewood. Colored images of life on the lake no longer take on a digital sheen and are instead cracked and scratched as if distorted by the white noise of disused wood. What may have once been a home now forms the textural backdrop to soon-memories as the floating villagers make their way to another (idea of) home.
