Lap Phuong

Lap Phuong (b. 1989, Vietnam) is a contemporary sculptor most known for her minimalist works. Using primarily metal and glass, reshaping materials in an exploration of the passion and tension that imbue human life, Lap Phuong often works with themes of freedom, identity and sexuality. She studied Monumental Sculpture at the Architecture University of Hanoi. In 2015 she exhibited at the International Sculpture Art Base Camp at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, and in 2017, at the Kohler Bold Art exhibition in Hanoi. Lap Phuong’s works are widely exhibited at solo and group exhibitions in Vietnam and the Southeast Asia region, including Foliage IV, Vincom Center for Contemporary Art (VCCA), Ha Noi, Vietnam, 2022; Illuminated Curiosities, Nguyen Art Foundation, HCMC, Vietnam, 2022; Yin Yang, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, Ha Noi, Vietnam, 2020; Kohler.Bold.Art, Asia-Pacific traveling exhibition, 2017; The Grapevine Selection 2, Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, Hanoi, Vietnam, 2015; International Sculpture Symposium, Suoi Tien Theme Park, HCMC, Vietnam, 2015; Art in the Forest, Flamingo Dai Lai Resort, Vinh Phuc, Vietnam 2015; and Art in the Air, Malaysia, 2014.
