Le Kinh Tai
Le Kinh Tai (b. 1967, Vietnam) graduated from the HCMC University of Fine Arts in 1997. With his controversial style which has received both praise and critique, he is considered a notable figure among the painters of his generation. Considering art making as a serious labor of love, Tai has held more than a dozen solo exhibitions to date, and participated in many group exhibitions and artist-in-residence programs such as Retrospective, Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, Hanoi, Vietnam, 2017; Human, Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum, HCMC, Vietnam, 2017; Go, Lekinhtai’s Studio, HCMC, Vietnam, 2015; Wooden fish, Imaginary cake and Very fresh meat, New Space Art Gallery, Hue, Vietnam, 2012; Toy figurine, Viet Art Centre, Hanoi, Vietnam, 2011; Day Dreaming 2, Vermont Studio Center, Vermont, USA, 2009; The 25th Hour, Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, HCMC, Vietnam, 2009; và Human, Indochina Arts Partnership, Massachusetts, USA, 2008. He also received the Freeman International Full Fellowship Award in 2011 and 2009.
