Watercolor, acrylic, and paint on watercolor paper

Opera House is part of Tuyp Tran’s Once Upon a Time series, a cycle of twelve works that retell the story of Genesis through an inquiry into cosmic ontology. In this series, Tuyp traces the collision between human experience and realms beyond perception. Religious symbolism – such as reincarnation rendered through repeating geometric grids – intertwines with fleeting signs from multiple epochs and mythologies. Through these layered compositions, the artist reflects on the passage of time, life, and the existential tensions of the present moment.
