As a satellite event of the exhibition Rhyming Gestures on display at EMASI Van Phuc, Nguyen Art Foundation collaborated with invited guest Clay Mai and Art teacher Yael Velez to organize a multisensory interaction workshop for primary students.
Starting with curiosity about rhythm beyond lacquer of the ever-dancing artwork ‘Shadows in the Garden 2’ by artist Truong Cong Tung, the workshop encourages students to engage in a lacquer-inspired clay making activity, where they explored the shadow garden, unearthing entities, and then recreating them with clay. Through the playful clay practice of students, Truong Cong Tung’s blurred garden reveals itself, with DNA strands, human figures, and resting ducklings under ancient trees. As such, lacquer and clay complement each other, giving rise to new life.
